Paolo Di Canio is a pretty cool dude. He's just a fascist, not a racist. So we should hate him for hating freedom, but not for being prejudice against ethnic groups like ~70% of the soccer board.

I've lived most of my adult life in Testaccio Roma so I hate Lazio with a passion... and their huge percentage of fascist supporters are the main reason why the AS Roma - Lazio rivalry cuts so deeply.
I can certainly agree though that anything Di Canio's ever said probably pales greatly in respect to the rampant prejudice you find on this board.
However, I feel on this board it's often more the case of 22 year olds with little exposure to the world around them thinking they're being cute.

I have no problem with Hispanics. I have a problem with Mexico, the Mexican national team, and those in America who pull for the MNT over the USMNT.

Then I can hardly imagine that you don't also see where hating the MNT and supporting the USMNT becomes for some posters here an open season on "Mexicans" in general replete with the most banal ethnic and racial stereotypes they can muster. I'm all for free speech but personally find a lot of this simply embarrassing as an American more than it being cute or clever.

As for Mexican-Americans supporting the MNT, I couldn't care less. I live in NY now where I have naturalized friends from Spain and Germany that absolutely support those national teams more than the US team but I find it understandable, enjoyable and even an arguably "American" dynamic as America does, allegedly, value it's diversity.

Yeah, just let people pull for who they want to. When your team wins, you have bragging rights over them and vice versa.

What about Red Star Belgrade and Dinamo Zagreb? I find that they fit the perfect mold for arch-villian. Maybe I've just been watching too much Behind Enemy Lines.

The xenophobia outbreak on our board has been annoying lately.

I'd say Feyenoord, but over the last few years they have become irrelevant so I will just let them wither and die.

Soul searching Mrs. Miller, we all looked into the abyss and found the abyss staring back...the great questions were asked, "Do we define ourselves by what we are...or what we are NOT..." Camus' Theory of the Absurd comes to mind...

I agree with this...I don't even care the Guisseppe Rossi chose Italy (that being said, I would have loved to have him on the USMNT).

All water under the bridge....

Although I still don't see what the difference is between poking fun at Alabama athletics for being in a shitty state with funny stereotypes and poking fun at Mexico athletics for being in a shitty country with funny stereotypes
