Will be the 26th team (counting Nashville and Miami), leaving Phoenix, Detroit, TB, Sacramento, San Diego and whoever else for spots 27 and 28.

I'd imagine Cincy will be able to start fairly soon since they've already been preparing for this for over a year now.

Yea bc a 28 team league is sustainable, esp in a league with quality and depth issues

at this rate make it a 36 team pyramid and have MLS I and MLS II

The quality and depth is better than it's ever been.

yet when you add more teams

more players get shifted around and hurts depth

just look what happened when Argentina went to a first division this big.

I don't see how the two leagues are comparable.

Well for starters

One is a soccer mad country with tons of talent and great youth systems. While the other one isn't

So if the league with the talent, capability and support can't sustain a league that big, how do you think its going go in a country that isn't even close to that and has much more ground to cover travel wise.

MLS should be slow playing it right now

But Garber needs the money to portray the image that the league is making a profit.

I’m happy for Cincy great support and the city could use another pro sports team

Just hope it doesn’t mean the crew are leaving

Cincy did it the right way from the ground up.

shite, we just added a team this season and it's already made the league better. If there's some magical number that makes MLS worse, we clearly haven't reached it yet.

You really are not good at logic

the league is at a good number

MLS isn't a destination league and we don't have anything close to the youth development to supply teams with large amounts of quality players. Don't give me clubs are making academies garbage. 28 youth academies is no where near good enough in the grand scale of youth development compared to actual football nations.

That leaves the league with either bringing in subpar talent from abroad or playing below quality American players.

Indeed. With the vast majority of teams losing money, have to fill the coffers with those expansion fees.
