Great game. Ref sucked.
Huh? So many flops, especially in the first half. Then Chile just stopped attacking. This game kind of sucked for me.

I feel like if ur Chile wouldnt you have rather lost playin ur style and attacking than lose on the luck of the draw in a shootout

I actually don't think he did. He set the tempo wrong, so we got a shite ton of fouls which disrupted the flow of the game, and gave out yellow cards wrongly.

Maybe you're right. I didn't see it on the initial replay but I haven't seen it since then. I'll catch it on WCT

Anytime you get PKs in a knock out imo it makes for a great game.

Again, the players were flopping all over the place. I saw two different times where someone just jumped and flipped in the air to make it look like there was hard contact when they weren't even touched. Plus a couple times where the player just threw his own feet out from under himself to make it look like he was taken down. This World Cup has been pretty good overall with not having much diving but this game was one of the few bad ones.

It was most definitely dramatic..doesn't make it great. Flops and Chile basically quitting at the end turned me off.

That neymar one where he just jumped into the air was just

I'm not talking about the flopping. Webb called fouls inconsistently, and often at the first sign of contact. Sanchez earned at least two fouls that were just jockeying for the ball. The persistent fouling increased as the game went on because Webb was so inconsistent in the first half. Not a great game from him.

So you're saying that it DID hit his arm but should NOT be a handball? Come on man..

It certainly isn't a yellow card worthy handball. And top of the shoulder is not usually called a handball. It's a super narrow interpretation of the rule, and I straight up don't think that they would have been that many protests if it went the other way.

You can't just throw out the flops. The ref has to distinguish between what are fouls and what are players faking fouls. That definitely affects his calls throughout the game. If you want a fairly called game, you have to play fair.

Flopping is just to much of the latin teams games so yeah I agree with that.
I just love extra time and pks.
That ball of the cross bar by the Chile player was interesting

Maybe not yellow card worthy. But it's a handball and shouldn't have been a goal.
You just acknowledged it hit his arm and chest. Don't change to fit your argument.
This is part of the problem with flopping. Just because people complain one way or the other doesn't change the fact that he committed a foul. He used his arm to control the ball and that's illegal. End of story.

You have no idea how often Webb calls games inconsistently. He started the game swallowing the whistle, which makes players think they can get away with a lot more than they should. The way he calls games results in more flopping.
