body language of the squad was looking like the last days of the Fat Frank Era.

you knew something was up when CP10 walked off the pitch and didnt acknowledge the road fans at Southampton

Potterball would be a nice change from whatever that shite was on Offense tuchel devised for CFC

Ben Jacobs

@JacobsBen
Told Graham Potter has verbally agreed to take over as Chelsea boss. Formal paperwork expected to follow soon with Chelsea hoping to finalise the appointment before Fulham this weekend.

Potterball it is. Players upset at Tuchel for mismanagement and playing out of position? Color me shocked. It’s what a lot of people have been upset about.

This tells the story its not about Pulisic or any one player but the whole club declined with such great talent. Every player regressed. I look at it like football where teams moved to passing game lokg ago and one holdout has only a running game yet brings in elite receivers. His system was not working plain and simple. He inherited a great team that was preassembled for him and won with it - but his tactics weren’t fully implemented yet - they played off of prior coaches tactics mostly. Over time as he installed his system and his players this is what happened:

what? Frank rarely played a back 3. Tuchel came in and we looked completely different. it was night and day between the two in terms of shape and tactics from the get go. we even had a semblance of attacking strategy there for a bit, heavy on the overloads down the right flank with reece firing in low crosses. we never had any patterns under frank, and over time lost any patterns under TT.

TT just lost the dressing room. hes a notoriously poor man manager and has had drama at every club hes been at. this was inevitable. he also just seemed kinda burned out. went through a divorce, plus the ownership change and sanctions, things just went sour.

What’s insane is Ziyech comes in ahead of him, plays like dog shite again, CP comes in for 5 minutes, completes 5 passes and a beautiful cross to Ziyech which he botches. Wtf is going on?

Standard. I support Chelsea over a player but I’d like to see pulisic leave and do really well somewhere else

So much for the new ownership and Potter having plans for CP. I hope they have the decency to set him free in January.

My take:

Had they started Pulisic then the mobs would have blamed Pulisic for beimg why coach was fired. Then if they lost this game their fans would go ballistic anti Puli moreso than they already do.

This move was to protect him from scorn. Now going forward they can start him and can blame poor play of others. Even though he needs to get some grind this helps Puli in the long run. As can be read online the fans still crucifying Puli for 5 minutes imagine had he started.

I bet he starts their next game

yes, Chelsea, one of the world's biggest teams, based a sporting decision in a near must-win game based on potential public opinion about a squad rotation player.

Potter’s EPL opener vs CP. Kepa starts in goal. Let’s see what, if anything, changes. Hope to see more emphasis on the top 1/3’d of the pitch.

Watching Arsenal makes me a little jealous. Youth and speed all over the pitch and we still hang on to our dinosaurs like Kovacic, Azpi, Jorginho, Silva (who still plays at a high level). I hope Potter starts to play out young guys and recent acquisitions more.

Showed some grit but much work to do. Silva is lucky he wasn’t sent off for that hand ball. Pierre looked good as did Sterling. Happy for Gallager and his winner.
