The defender kicked it to OG so I don’t think he can be off. Nevertheless, huge win for Chelsea against La Liga #1. Kovacic controlled the midfield. Timo I don’t know what to say- how many more chances will he have to blow opportunities? Sit him

1. Great win

2. Mount is a beast

3. Thank God Jorginho is suspended next match, now if only Timo would do something so that he couldn't be picked since consistent horrible play obviously won't do the trick.

4. Wish we would have pressed harder for another goal, like the announcer mentioned Atletico was there for the taking today. They sucked bad the whole match.

5. Timo blows.

Abraham not interested in discussing a contract extension at the moment.

“The report claims that Abraham is not interested in extending his deal beyond 2023 while Chelsea pursue Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland.”

Fine by me. Sign Haaland and extend OG and I’d be thrilled. Tammy seems like a petulant child and gives no effort unless he’s given the ball. Let him go.

Thats extremely harsh. Most strikers pout when they dont get the ball. Tammy has been a solid pro about phasing in and out of the lineup. Hes light years behind of Morata in terms of pitty parties.

That said, Tammy isnt worth the money hes asking. Hes a good backup/cup tie player. But thats his chelsea ceiling.

I think that's the biggest issue. He wants big time money, and he's not a crazy big time player. He could be super solid somewhere else. I can see him going to Villa or Southampton and getting 15-17 goals a year. But if we're trying to win titles, Tammy probably can't be more than a rotational guy or an option off the bench if we're chasing a game.

its the CHO contract biting the club in the arse. Tammy has every right to demand the same money that CHO is getting, hes certainly got more appearances and goals, and has been generally relied on more. was a poor precedent set by the club, especially when there was a whole crew of youth teamers breaking into the squad with contract renewals coming up.

but totally agree, CHO wasnt really worth the contract he signed, and neither is Tammy. dont think any other club would come close to offering those terms either.

Apparently, Marina agreed to bring Sarri back after Frank’s sacking
quote:

The Italian journalist says that Blues supremo Marina Granovskaia wanted the Italian to return, and the former Napoli and Juventus boss even agreed to take over. In the end, however, Roman Abramovich intervened to ensure Tuchel was appointed instead.

Would’ve been a freaking disaster. What was she thinking.

ManU Sat at the Bridge then Liverpool at Anfield. I’d take a split and Liverpool looks like they can be had. Need someone to step up and score some goals. Gotta get crooked numbers to beat those two sides.

The outcome of next 5 fixtures, I feel, will define the direction of this club.
I’m intrigued with Mason and Christian’s relationship. I’m new to this game but from what I’ve witnessed, their skill sets link up very well.

I still think our midfield balance isn't quite right. Either gotta solve the Kante conundrum and get him fit/inform or find someone else. Also, our wing play is underwhelming. We could use an elite striker or have better wing play with the wingers playing off Giroud & contributing more than CHO/Pulisic/Ziyech have so far.

I’m waiting for Kai to come around. Slow start, then injured, then COVID and he’s never been right.

Would I be wrong in saying, CP and Oli have that chemistry?
I enjoyed the clip of them, in the tunnel, speaking strategy.

OG pairs nicely with the traits of the wingers. He should have been our lead man for the past two years.

Kai has been the biggest disappointment of all. We spent an exorbitant amount on him to sit the bench.

Kai yes but Ziyech has been just as bad. He is so weak on the ball and loses every challenge. Of the two, Kai has the biggest upside.

Offense as anemic as usual. Only chance was a near miss header by OG on a great cross by CHO. We have no imagination up there and nobody that aggressively challenges a defense off the dribble, and MU is pressing high because they have no fear of a long ball breakaway from our forwards. Ziyech is absolute shite who offers nothing. Mason is Mason. Glad to see Chilly back in there. Need a real lift up top like perhaps CP.

Not sure what’s more frustrating, when frank refused to play pulisic when he was in form, or now when ziyech is playing absolutely abysmal and he refuses not to play him.

CP for OG is a strange sub.
