good deal

whats up with Eden's brother Thorgan? I know he's on loan in Belgium, how does he compare to Eden? obviously not as good, but potential? Think he will play for Chelsea at some point?

I'm fairly concerned that we are going to sell Luiz. Rumors are really heating up and if they are true, Barca typically get who they want.

And Chelsea never sell players that they want.

You shouldn't worry.

He is on loan to Zulte Waregem for a second season, they play a Champions League qualifying match later today. He was one of their best players last season.

Here is a good, in-depth piece on Thor if you're interested, although it is kind of long. LINK

This quote from the article is a good summary of his game though. Obviously he probably won't become as good as Iniesta, but his game is similar to him, somewhat.
quote:

Right now, don’t expect much. He will go back on loan, with Anderlecht, Genk, Zulte and PSV apparently very interested. He understands that his brother’s development is exceptional and Thorgan has always stated that he wishes to progress at his own rhythm. Don’t expect him to grow like Eden. He is becoming a different animal entirely. As of this day, I would say his development is leading him towards a style of player comparable to Iniesta. He can shoot, he can pass, he is quick, he reads the game and he doesn’t make much of a fuss when on the field. Iniesta is not the best in any particular field but he’s certainly the second best in most departments. This is what Thorgan can grow to become.

When David Luiz scores the game winning goal versus Barcelona in the Champions League this year, this will be his reaction:

ETA: Also, some thoughts on the game, since I am bored.

- I'm not reading too much into the game as a whole, as even though it wasn't necessarily a friendly atmosphere, we didn't have Mata, Luiz, Mikel.
- Ramires' goal was great, Lukaku had a great lay-off for him on the run and got the assist. He also had a pretty nice low cross in to Frank on that penalty shout.
- Lukaku, and then Torres in the 2nd half, didn't do much as they were isolated up top most of the time.
- Van Ginkel is a stud, he has been phenomenal this preseason and tonight he continued that. He is gonna be a starter before the winter imo.
- Cahill didn't play very well again in the back. Neither did Terry.
- Hazard seemed to have gotten fouled just about every time he got the ball. He is gonna be a nightmare for defenders again this season.
- Sometime this season I want to see Hazard, Oscar, De Bruyne, and Mata all on the field at the same time. Obviously it probably wouldn't work as our main starters most likely because we don't have a Schweinsteiger anchoring the midfield (I think Mikel could do well if given that role, though) but if we are down a goal I could see us running this.

Piazon loaned to Vitesse.

He will be joining fellow Blues Gaël Kakuta, Patrick van Aanholt, and Cristián Cuevas at Vitesse.

Why are we hanging onto these guys? They've been on loan for like a decade now. Is it not pretty clear they aren't ever going to crack the first team?

Both Kakuta and Van Aanholt are only 22, so we shouldn't write them off completely. Ryan Bertrand was on loan until he was 22 I am pretty sure and he developed into a solid squad player. I think Van Aanholt could still turn out to be a pretty good player but there is no reason to keep him at Chelsea while he would still be the third LB in the pecking order.

Good win today. Can't put too much stock in a game against Hull, but I am glad to see us taking care of business in these games

Is Luiz actually going to play against Villa or is he injured?

He wasn't even on the bench Sunday due to "injury". I hope it's true but it's not sitting well with me.

His ego may be bruised by JM. On another note, I liked the lineup the other day. I would like to see Mata on the left and Eden on the right but we were very creative in the attacking third, especially in the first half. Defense was solid. JT may be a douchebag, but he seems to make a difference in keeping Cahill grounded. Old yet still solid back line, especially in the middle IMO.

I dunno. I would love to see him play Wednesday but I just want to make sure he is good to go for United in a week.

Would it make you feel better if I said that Barcelona called off their quest to sign a CB?

And that he posted this on Instagram yesterday?

Because both are true.
