Tim Howard is a big fan of LSU's own Chris Jackson

I saw that in "Chasing the Game." Fantastic book. Apparently Jackson also had Tourrette's and played basketball like Tim, which is why he was sort of a role model for him.

Yep, I knew they both had tourettes, but it never dawned on me that Howard could've drawn inspiration from him.
I was also shocked that he still refers to him as Chris Jackson and not Mahmoud Abdul Rauf.

Well yeah, Mahmoud Abdul Rauf isn't exactly a popular figure after his national anthem boycott. Chris Jackson is remembered as the incredible free scoring freshman from LSU. Some oldtimers on the rant still get salty when people reminisce about him.
I also learned about Chris Wondolowski's native heritage, which should ease Randy's xenophobic concerns over this team.

Meh, Johnny Jones has recently re-accepted him into the LSU community. There was one game I went to where they honored the final four team he was on and they announced him as Mahmoud Abdul Rauf, obviously.

I got most of it. He even said it's funny when guys on the team can't understand what he's saying and they just laugh about it.
Won't be that funny if it causes us to give up a goal though.
