Yeah Austria employs Fuchs at that left back spot and Alaba typically plays centrally for them. He is a converted LB after all, never played there until he was a pro for Bayern.

Bayern's not letting Alaba go anywhere. He'll be with Bayern for several more years, if not his entire career.

It's been circulating pretty heavily the last few days so I'm sure some of you have heard by now, but the Bobby Lewandowski saga could be coming to an end in January when it has been reported that he will join Bayern in the winter window. An equal amount of reports saying that he will not join until the summer, but it has basically been confirmed by both sides that an announcement will be made in January regarding him signing with the club, only the join date is in question. Folks better start prepping their back sides.

Site I saw had them announcing it on Jan. 2nd...I just hope that saga doesn't spread through the spring into summer...

I don't really think it matters that much anymore, if we don't buy him in January then he is free to sign with whoever he wants in the summer and he has personally said many times he dreams of playing at Bayern, so it's really just a waiting game. I can't see him coming in January, if BVB wouldn't sell him for 30mm in the summer I don't know why they'd do it in January. They would also be left without an actual striker worth a shite.

P-E-A has been tearing it up. I know he hasn't been deployed strictly as a striker, but I think he would slide right in without BvB missing much of a step.

He's definitely good as shite and has been playing really well, but if they are still competing in at least 2 competitions I can't see them giving up one of the most (at the moment) complete strikers in the world. Jonas Hofmann looks like he's ready for a bigger role in the team and could definitely take over Pierre's duty on the wings, but this would also mean Grosskreutz would have a much larger job on a weekly basis and I don't know if that's what they're aiming for.

Also, seeing as we don't need to make a desperate buy in the winter window, I can't see the club offering very much money and BVB would be silly to accept it (if they're still competing for trophies.) They've already bitten the bullet and said they wouldn't sell him, so they should just keep him and try and win some prize money to negate not getting a transfer fee off of him. It's also come out that Reus has somewhere around a 35mm release clause in his contract that takes effect in 2015. It would be very wise of them to renegotiate without that in there.

Shaqiri should have just blasted that one instead of aiming for the corner...

Edit: spellcheck

Our schedule is pretty heavy over the next few weeks. Wolfsburg this weekend, Man City midweek, Leverkusen on that Saturday. Not to mention Hannover in the Pokal today.

I really don't see him leaving, unless everyone else does and BvB falls apart.

Guardiola on Lahm: If I would decide tomorrow to play him as a striker, he will be the best striker in Europe, believe me.
