I don’t know that they’re that hated. I’ve always rooted for them over Madrid cause I’m a Messi > Cristiano guy
But you’re right in the sense that idk anyone who considers them their #1 team. They don’t seem to have any big fans on this board but I bet a handful of posters root for them cause of Messi

Now that you say it, I only know one legitimate fan and it's a Russian kid in my class who is from Volograd.
