As others have said the only question is whether or not it was IN the box, it was 100% a foul.
I'm neutral as to who wins. I thought it was a penalty, but it wasn't 100%. What's aggravating to me is that, if Reus hadn't gone to ground, he would've had a clear shot on goal.

I'm torn. Defnitely some contact, but he could have easily kept going.

Not a clear pk. Fifty fifty. Incidental contact if u ask me. Bvb completely fell asleep complaining about the no call. Hummels tries to do too much and gives it to higuain who feeds cr7 for a sitter. The whole tie just got turned on its head.

He played for the PK and left it in the refs hands instead of continuing his run.

I like both of these teams, I'm just not a big fan of pk's. I need something really clear and obvious to award one and that wasn't. They both stumbled and it was more of a coming together than a foul to me. I agree it's probably a foul if it isn't in the box, but I'm not a devotee of the "if it's a foul at midfield it's a foul in the box" school of thought

If he would have stayed up and missed everyone would be saying the same thing they said when Torres didn't go down last week.

"he's too honest for his own good, that's why players go down easy"

He clearly got tripped, open your biased eyes.

Well then, maybe it's for the best. If refs stop calling it, players may be less likely to dive. I think that's a win-win for fans.

Much like our respective opinions on the mls' caliber, we simply disagree here. IMO pk's just have to big an impact on a match to call them the same way as ticky tack fouls in other areas of the pitch

No you're missing the point, refs don't call obvious fouls because the player stays up even if he's at a severe disadvantage and loses the ball. Thus they go to ground and get the right call. If they don't it just lets defenders get away with being excessively physical in the box.

ETA: after watching the replay it was OUTSIDE the box, but regardless still a foul.

Are the fans singing a German version of "Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye"?

Since when did Germans start acting like Italians on the pitch?
