Man, now I'm a little nervous, but obviously it's a great position to be in... Just be solid on defense next week and it's off to the final

Those two away goals keep it alive

Just like the late goal they got at Barca

Indeed.

No lead is safe with Dejan F-ing Lovren.

If Roma can sustain how their midfield played the first 25 mins, in the next leg. This will get interesting.

Last 10 minutes were a major bummer on what was looking like to be an absolutely perfect night. Still thrilled to have a 3 goal lead going to Rome

Roma can't be that wide open again, but they can't afford not to push up and try to score. They have to hope that Klopp fricks up and has Pool set up in the low block or something, because Roma has to score and keep a clean sheet. I think they can do one or the other, but not both, at least to the degree they need to.

Don't you mean soon enough?

He's been given numerous chances. He gave up a goal this past weekend too.

Eh, it should be like the City game with a better atmosphere.

Roma isn't close to being the side that City is, although they were wreaking havoc attacking Lovren with Dzeko.

The high line they played was suicidal if they wanted to continue to make the game a midfield battle. It completely negates the advantage they have in midfield, because their midfield can be bypassed. Pool pose a tough challenge in that regard. If you make the field compact to close down space in midfield, they can hit balls into space and let their attackers run onto them. If you play in the low block and let them face the game head on, your own attack is mitigated because of their counter-pressing. It works really well because the front 3 are so lethal.

City at home? Klopp didn't set up Pool in the low block, to my recall, and I'd wager he's probably never gone out with the idea to put 10 behind the ball. What I'm saying is that the only way I see Roma coming back is through a massive tactical error by Klopp, one that he's not prone to making in the first place. Hence, why I think this tie is mostly over, save for some frickery.

Mo Salah first goal!

My ears are still ringing this morning. That was one of if not the wildest sporting event I’ve ever been to.

I have lots of videos and pictures to upload today once I travel back to Cambridgeshire.

yeah - they'll need to open up to get three goals.. I like our chances to get a couple in Rome when they do..

This is what we call wishful thinking lads.

Roma’s midfield didn’t switch up much over the course of the game, that isn’t the reason they got boat raced. Liverpool just started hitting balls over the top of them. The midfield can play as wide or compact as they want, if the wingbacks are pressing up the field then they’re going to get embarrassed again. Liverpool were basically playing 3 on 3 and their back line wasn’t up to the task.
