Apparently now Cellino is saying GFH shite canned McDermott.... I don't understand after Cellino was interviewed as saying he (McDermott) was doing everything he could to cause strife for the new owner. Seems to me the fans brought about this change of heart. McDermott is slated to be at Thorpe Arch Monday AM for training... we shall see.

I don't follow Leeds at all but what happened with McDermott is confusing and hilarious.

Seems Cellino majority purchase of Leeds Utd is finally official.
According to the Sardinian press, his deal to sell Cagliari to the to the Al-Thani family (think these are connected to PSG), who have been trying to buy a Serie A side for a while now. Cellino will use the money to buy Elland Road grounds.
First in the rumor mill is that he's interested in signing Del Piero.

yea, he is flying in to meet with the football league wednesday and it should become officially official then. apparently he had about 5 no name italian players lined up to sign on loan. andrea tabanelli almost happened but they didn't get the right paperwork done in time. i don't even know what to think anymore. just hope he gives mcdermott a chance.

Of course, I have no idea how it will turn out but have been following since I have a lot of connections to Calgiari and used to attend a lot of their matches.
But like I said before, he was a good owner for Cagliari. A maverick and quick to make changes but the players and fans mainly liked him and the club was pretty successful under him.
Probably the biggest threat right away is simply in terms of a battle of wills between Cellino wanting to do things his way and current club staff.

I'd guess everything that went down last week isn't a good sign. I imagine that Cellino will want his men who's opinion trusts closely involved and usually sitting managers don't like that.
The other thing to watch is simply that with a historical club like Leeds the fans aren't going to be resistant to everything they see as compromising the "Englishness" of the club, if that makes sense).
The American owners at Roma faced a ton of that. Every little move they made (like replacing an Italian marketing director with a German then American one drew widespread protests.) The author of the "Roma Roma Roma" anthem infamously said he couldn't go to any more matches since he didn't "recognize" the team anymore. That they changed the club logo still draws a hundred or so protesters to the training grounds almost daily after over a year.
However, that Roma is winning has calmed most of it down (aside from the logo) but it was a very rocky road for a couple of years.
I'd guess that if Cellino isn't driven out he'll have Leeds back in the EPL but there will be some fans still not liking the changes he makes.
