I really hope Egypt qualifies for the WC. Not just because I think Bob is awesome, but because it would mean so much to that country and it is what they need.

They won their group already. The 10 group winners will be randomly paired into 5 two-leg games. Aggregate winners qualify.

Yeah, the group play still has 2 matchdays left in September. The next round will take place with a leg in October and one in November.

Africa qualifying sucks. I hate systems that rely on lucky draws and two-game playoffs. A team like Egypt could go undefeated in their group, draw Ivory Coast in the playoff, and they are done. CONCACAF might be my second-favorite system after CONMEBOL.

I remember reading someplace that the Daily Show is extremely popular in Egypt. They even have a handful of knockoffs.

I believe it is. Jon is Stewart is over in that area filming a movie, and I think I saw a clip where he was a guest on one of those shows.

Watching the replay of the Daily Show right now. I feel kinda bad now that I wanted him fired in 2010.
