Drogba has got a clause that allows him to leave Shangai Shenhua for free if Barcelona came calling. He will meet the Spanish club tomorrow

Sorry, couldn't put the second tweet up quick enough. Crazy, if true.

Drogba in barca colors, never thought I'd see the day. It will be interesting to see how he'll fit into their style of play.

?@GuillemBalague

The Catalan newspapers (Sport and Mundo Deportivo) reporting that Drogba won't sign. Radio Onda Cero saying he will. Interesting hours ahead

This has to be the most Ironic news in the history of football.

I keep seeing a replay in my head of that GIF of him losing his mind when they lost to Barca a few years ago in the champions league.

April Fool's Day in Spain is the 28th of December.

Sport reports neither he, nor his agent, are on the club's schedule for tomorrow.

would be amazing if it happens. It is too early for drogba to fade into obscurity. He is way too good for china and I will miss his class finishing and antics.

I would love to see him in those new Barca shirts. I would also like to see how he fits into their system. I guess they'll drop Messi underneath Drogba to be more creative in the midfield. Leaving Drogba up top. Pick your poison...Leave big, strong Drogba alone to kill you up top or leave Messi alone underneath to pick you apart.

My thoughts exactly, I'm not ready for him to disappear yet. And I think he would really freshen up the Barca attack.

Don't see it happening though, mostly because of Drogba's love affair with Anelka...

It seems like the role Drogba would have at Barca is not as a starter, but as a situational sub. A healthy Villa should definitely start over him at this point, but they could deploy him late in games or to give Villa the occasional day off.

All some stupid arse ruse (or, he and his agent thought better of their plan).

He's still in Miami, and will be flying to Shanghai.
