Why aren’t ALL the countries listed in the ticket request portal? I see Brazil, Spain, and a bunch of small nations.

Will just wait for the Ticket Exchange portal to open and hopefully get a couple tickets for an Atlanta group stage match for a decent price.

Didn't realize how this current process was.

Put in for 2 tickets Category 3 for Spain vs. Saudi Arabia.

Wanted to note that the cheapest I saw on StubHub for $450 were category 3 tickets. Which are the $180 tickets.

Probably looking at a $250-$300 mark up on these tickets pre-tournament.

And the ticket prices are from $180-$500.

That $180 was only for a couple matches that I saw in Dallas and Houston. Most seemed to be over $200 for the cheapest.

I put in for 2 to a knockout round in Dallas. I guess we'll see what happens.

I guess I can cancel my ticket request if there are appropriately priced ones available on the exchange come the 15th.
I have a feeling tickets there will be very expensive until late spring/early summer. FIFA has set an already high market and people will try to get the most out of their unwanted tickets.

What would you all have chosen?

Spain vs. Cape Verde (Monday)
[likely] Denmark vs. South Africa (Thursday)
Spain vs. Saudi Arabia (Sunday)
Morocco vs. Haiti (Wednesday)
[likely] DR Congo vs. Uzbekistan (Saturday)

I mean... wooofff...

Was actually tempted by the possibility of seeing Denmark/South Africa, but the Sunday matchday and it being Spain was the tilt - they may go on to win the whole damn thing.

Also, cannot tell if my friend is joking with me or not but do Saudis have the power to ban alcohol in the stadiums for their games?

I put in for a handful of matches that will be heavily attended and extremely expensive and don't really expect to get the tickets.

Judging from the social media sentiment, I'd be vary wary of putting in a bunch of requests for games between far away or third world-type countries unless you just really want to go to all of them. It's going to be cost prohibitive even for people in developed countries.

But aren’t you going to be on the hook for all the matches if you win in the draw?

Theoretically yes, but really doubtful I win all of them or even any of them. I picked the cheapest tickets they had.

Either way the cheapest is category three and I only looked at Atlanta.

Well if the tickets to the same game I want are $200 ill just get them instead of waiting to possibly not be able to buy them at $180.

It's really up to you how much work you want to put in. I can check the exchange every day from 12/15 to 1/13 and just see. Won't hurt anybody.

That's how I was able to get great tickets to an Arsenal game. Just went on their ticket exchange every day until I saw two together I liked.

Yeah but there are thousands of people thinking like you so the demand will be high when the ticket exchange opens up because people will have easier access to purchasing tickets. Classic high demand = high price.

Cheapest would've been $140/ea. for me for DR Congo (likely) vs. Uzbekistan. I figure if I'm making it a point to see one World Cup match while it's in the US, then this is the cheapest it could possibly ever be since future World Cups would be flying, accommodations, etc.

So, I figure $220/ea. for 2 tickets to see Spain was a decent deal. Sunday was a bonus since we can likely just drive back the same day and not take any time for work... which around that time is the busiest I am all year.

$500 per ticket is my absolute max and that's pushing it. I put in for one match at that price and it's probably going to be one of the hardest tickets to get in the tournament. Norway v France at Gillette in Foxborough.

I applied for 4 tickets to the July 4 knockout game in Houston for $220/each. Potential to be Brazil Vs Mexico and be a complete shite show. Gonna be great. If i don't get those, i guess i'll go the secondary market route which will suck

I kind of want to apply for Congo Uzbekistan too, but I don't want to end up winning both lotteries.

I feel like you'd have a great chance at winning tickets to that game . Can't imagine a lot of Congolese or Uzbeks are dropping 10's of thousands to travel to the US for a soccer match

Would it be a smart move to enter several and if I happen to win more than 1 just sell tickets in the exchange for the match I dont want to attend?
