Baton Rouge Capitols

Did anybody ever go to any of their games? They folded right before I got into the game.
It seems to me like Baton Rouge would be a decent place for a new NPSL team given the right investors, marketing and efforts to draw crowds. I know Baton Rouge has a fairly sizeable soccer market, and I think Baton Rouge Soccer Association has something like 7,000 players in its leagues alone. So why did they fold? If you have ever gone, what were the games like? Where did the club fail? What could they have done better? Did they do any form of marketing at all?
Would you attend games if Baton Rouge got a new team? I sure as hell would. NPSL is not bad soccer at all, comparatively of course.

Same here. NPSL really isn't bad. It's just a U23 league. The best U23 league in the country. Louisiana is somewhat of a hotbed when it comes to producing soccer talent. Patrick Mullins (Jesuit I believe) played for the Jesters (NOLA) and Maryland and was just the 5th overall pick in the MLS draft.
It just doesn't seem like it would be too difficult to get 500 people in the stand for a game with a city the size of BR. Idk maybe that's just wishful thinking

11th, but close enough.
They played close to my house, off Kenilworth in that crappy concrete football stadium. I was never all that interested in going. It got no press. Maybe if they advertised better.

I think Kenilworth would be the best spot for them to play. Gotta be better than playin at Christian life tucked way back behind Pennington, even though Olympia is a dump
I just think that with the recent surge in popularity of the sport nationwide, there is newfound potential. We have a new soccer radio show starting in Baton Rouge, and if partnered with BRSA and some good sponsors, I think a team could survive. There's absolutely nothing else in Baton Rouge outside of LSU sports

That pretty much sums it up. Shitty stadium aside, I think point #2 was the main problem.
The Jesters at least advertise by throwing out free tickets at Mardi Gras
