this article suggests that clichy had a pretty decent game, and that nasri and arshavin not doing much defensively was an open invitation to exploit space in front of clichy. it's encouraging to see that he didn't let one cross in past the 18.
Really interesting article. It would be helpful if some of our attacking players would track back. We had the same problems last year, notably during the Everton game at the Emirates. Nasri has the stamina, but definitely doesn't have the workrate.

@cesc4official Good news on my injury. I have some fluid but nothing bad in the muscle. I hope i can be playing in 2 weeks.
good to hear. also one of the perks of having a player on twitter: no press speculation or conflicting reports on injury issues.
wenger charged a small fine by the FA for whatever he did/said in the match against Sunderland. it was after song had been sent off and apparently his complaining/grabbing of the official was somehow seen as bullying.

Damn I hope he can be back for the Chelsea game. I also hope Song stops playing like dogshit. And Diaby needs to come back or we will get overrun.

How dare you bring facts into my Clichy rant.
Chelsea is in 13 days. Cesc and Arsenal say 2 weeks so he should be back mid-October.

WTF how on earth is Fab even out 2 weeks? Seriously Arsenal step the frick up guys. They need to get one gritty vet in the lockerroom and show those youngins whats up, aka stop being pussies.

we've got a fine collection of fragile ankles.
we need to be paying some rogue Ukranian embryologist money to hook us up with experimental stem cell tissue injections, derivative steroid formula, or at least serve as a sweet coke hookup.

Yeah, that GPS technology we're using to learn more about injuries sure seems to be helping out.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is waiting anxiously for news regarding the possible state of Kieran Gibbs' metatarsal, after the left-back sustained an injury in Tuesday's League Cup win over Tottenham Hotspur.
The Gunners chief confirmed after the game that there was concern that the injury might see Gibbs ruled out for a lengthy period, just as the season is picking up momentum. Gibbs had only recently recovered from a prior metatarsal break.
"That’s the only disappointment of the night. He [Gibbs] had a very good game. We hope that we do not get bad news tomorrow morning," Wenger told reporters after the game at White Hart Lane.

Gibbs' foot injury is only short-term
The Club is happy to confirm that following last night’s Carling Cup Third Round match at Tottenham Hotspur, a scan to Kieran Gibbs’ foot has shown there is no fracture.
Kieran has suffered severe bruising to his left foot and will hopefully only be missing from first-team action for the short term.

The short term being a couple of matches hopefully.

Cesc, Almunia, and Gibbs all out for Sunday.
That's 8 first team players that are unfit to play :/

I am resigned to the fact that the Gunners will get routed on Sunday. "The Massacre at Stamford Bridge" makes a nauseating movie title.

oh we of little faith....
at least our midfield will look something like this:
Arshavin, Nasri, Song, Wilshere and Rosicky... not too shabby.
last year, second chelsea game in which we lost pretty bad, Arshavin played as the lone striker. this time around chamakh will be given that duty and he holds the ball up so much better.
basically we just need fabianski, clichy, and kos to be completely concentrated, and if we emerge with a draw I'd be satisfied.
oh, and fat frank lampard is out for chelsea. /shrug doesn't really mean much to me since he never seemed threatening

When I think we will lose we usually do okay. Setting myself up for a surprise.
I do like our midfield, just hope we don't get pushed around.

I'll take a point for sure.

News is coming out of France that Bacary Sagna will be out for three weeks after sustaining injury to his thigh. This comes as a blow for gooners who were expecting Wenger to have a fit squad to choose from for the next games.
Deputy Emanuel Eboue who is also on international duty so far has reported no injury and will be most likely to start for the injured Frenchman for Arsenal’s next match against Birmingham.

This won't do anything to cure Wenger's fatalism regarding injuries on international duty.
