WTF? Was that taken from a 1985 camcorder? Still good to see. Except Djourou stuck in cement boots on the first goal.

Obviously the conversion process from Betamax to Flash video was not a clean one.

Better quality of the last 2 goals.

I think we have a real talent in AOC. Kid seems to be a player. Also, everything I read raved about Coquelin. Not that everything Wenger has done recently makes sense, but I can't see him being beneath Frimpong on the depth chart for much longer.

Coquelin played well, but I'm not ready to knight him just yet. He went for a tackle on the move that ended with Shrewsbury hitting the post, when perhaps he should have covered. And on the move when he intercepted the final cross, it was his missed tackle that led to the break. It was good on him to make that type of recovery, which shows he has a good bit of athleticism, but he needs to be more composed in those instances. He also did this against a League Two team. A better team might not be so profligate with their chances.

It was a good showing though.

I see Coquelin as a different type of player. He's more a replacement for Denilson as a DM that has the requisite technique to recycle possession. Frimpong is clearly a destroyer in the mold of Song. They can easily coexist in the same midfield, hence why I don't see them competing with each other. That said, if we go for a 2 DM pairing, I'd rather Coquelin start ahead of Frimpong if Song is the other DM.

But I think we are underrating Frimpong's technical ability. He's a good dribbler, has a shot on him, and is excellent at tackling and marking. I'd rather have both available for selection than have neither. If both can play together in a two man midfield, that gives us a lot of options. Both need to work on positioning in a serious way if they are to be regular contributors.

I also think this is a similar situation to the Miquel/Bartley situation. I feel like Bartley is further along at a physical level, but it is Miquel who stays while Bartley goes on loan. I really feel Djourou's time here is ending, along with Squillaci, so hopefully we will have a place for both of them next year.

Both are young and make silly mistakes. From what I've seen though, Frimpong makes more mistakes out of the two. Coquelin makes less, likely because he's played a year in top flight football. Frimpong would really benefit from going out on loan, but I'm afraid we don't have the depth to allow that so instead of someone else working through his growing pains, its us. He is a big talent though.

I don't think Miquel has the physical attributes to be an Arsenal first-team defender. He is very skilled though. I don't see how we're going to get rid of Djourou or Squillaci. No one will take them for what we are paying them. Wish Djourou could go back to how he was playing pre-ManU injury.

Frimpong is already physically developed. In fact, he's a freak in that regard. It'd probably be more beneficial if he continued his development at Arsenal, if only for the reason that if he stays in our passing game, his ability to pass will be better than if he goes on loan to a side, probably English, that will only accentuate his qualities as a destroyer.

Coquelin is not as physically developed, though he's ahead in terms of technique. The loan helped move his body ahead, so now he can at least impose his athleticism now.

I'm not sure about Miqeul. He's 6'4, and has lovely technique. I wish he would use his size more. A Bartley-like loan might be really beneficial.

In good news, we've apparently signed Joan Laporta's son from Barca. LINK

If Laporta ever returns to the presidency of Barca, the drama will be hilarious.

Worse news. Jackie Boy having surgery on his ankle. Best case scenario is Christmas time return.
