Certainly helps us.

Big test for Theo. Enrique shut him down first go-round. Theo needs to prove he can do something versus a solid LB. Also, I'm excited to see Gervinho run at Glen Johnson.

Is absolute shite on the defensive end. I hate him. Almost as much as Beast hates Kuyt (if that's even possible).

Hahahahaha. I don't hate Kuyt as much as ya'll think. I criticize him on what he does poorly and praise him on his positive skills. I absolutely love the guy coming off the bench, I just can't stand when he starts a match as a forward. When he has good matches I absolutely acknowledge how well he played, and nobody wants him to score as much as I do.

ETA But the feeling on Johnson is absolutely mutual.

A big key is how deep 'Pool will play. If they press, Theo might have space. I don't think they will press though, as they will probably try to beat us on the counter.

with Djourou out for a month and Vermaelen questionable for Saturday, our defense will be slightly less horse shite then it was when we played Liverpool on matchday 2

Are you implying that Verm being out upgrades the defense?

sorry, looking back on the match report and the lineup wasn't as woeful as I remembered. I think it was the red card on Frimpong that did us in. The only Jeremy Lin in the armor was Carl Jenkinson at left back, and Frimpong was in over Song.

Our defense really came apart for the United match.

Doubt we play a high line. Then again, if we get behind like Tottenham did we may have no choice.

What are the rules on motor scooters? If FIFA forgot to put something about these in the "Laws of the Game" then I'm thinking we have a secret weapon to level the playing field for Carra.

Glen Johnson out for the England friendly. Wonder what his status for this weekend is.

'Pool and Arsenal both struggling with back line injuries.

Only in regard to Agger. Glen being out strengthens our defensive back line.

What about my man Rosicky busting arse recently? Really happy for him, always liked his effort (partly because that's about all he gave). Hopefully that gives him some confidence as this team is gonna need him to give more of these performances down the stretch.

I think he is currently a better option than Ramsey right now. Poor Aaron just isn't the type of player that can run a midfield right now. I feel bad for him as he should have never been shouldered with that burden to begin with.

TV5 starting today for Belgium which is both a bad and good sign.

So how optimistic are you all about a top 4 finish currently *tied* with Chelsea? Amazing that we are tied in both points and GD.

Looking ahead to the rest of schedule I'm figuring around 25 more points out of it which would put us at 71.. hopefully enough.

We've got:

@Liverpool
Newcastle Utd
@Everton
Aston Villa
@QPR
Man City
@Wolves
Wigan Athletic
Chelsea
@Stoke City
Norwich City
@West Brom

Chelsea has: @West Brom, Stoke, @Man City, Spurs, @Villa, Wigan, @Fulham, Newcastle, @Arsenal, QPR, @Liverpool, Blackburn.

We both play at Anfield. We have the edge of Man City at home, are done with Spurs, and have Chelsea at the Emirates. Our remaining games are probably slightly easier than Chelsea's too. We have the advantage, but I really have no clue as to if we'll seize it. Can't predict this season.

Because frick-it-all february ended on such an alarmingly high note, and if you're one to believe in signs, then maybe there's room for optimism. also Abou Diaby coming back will be like a new signing.

edit: also good to hear about TV5, we may essentially have a 75% ideal back four, with Gibbs being a permanent defensive question mark

LB will always be a problem with the way the side is structured. As long as the LW is an inverted winger, the LB will get little to no protection. I don't think Gibbs defensive ability is bad per se, but he's definitely on an island a lot often facing 2 players. Clichy had the same problem when we switched to the 4-3-3.
