Yeah I'd prefer he stayed, but not for 40 mil.

That's worth it and just let Nelson get some time out left. Still can put mhki out there too.

Why did we let Iwobi go?

didnt we sell Theo Walcott to make room for iwobi in the starting 11?

and then Iwobi gets sold to the same team who bought Walcott a year later?

40 million for a backup player that is still having lots of issues on the finishing end? You have to make that move. I like Iwobi and he still has room for improvement so I wish him the best of luck.

Didn't think about this, but you guys think Martinelli impressed enough to get some time out there? We have more options on the left then I originally thought about.

Also the thought that we didn't loan him rt away so he could adjust to life here coming from a world away.

He can play on the right which most of our guys aren't as comfortable bar Pepe. I can see him getting Carabao cup games and maybe even a some time in Europa especially if we lock up our group early. And your totally right about not loaning him out. He needs to adjust to the club and new country.

Ozil and Kolasinac aren't travelling to Newcastle because of more security threats. WTF??

Arsenal Statement

quote:

Mesut Ozil and Sead Kolasinac will not be part of the squad for our opening match against Newcastle United following further security incidents which are being investigated by the police.

The welfare of our players and their families is always a top priority and we have taken this decision following discussion with the players and their representatives. We are liaising with the police and are providing the players and their families with ongoing support.

We look forward to welcoming the players back to the squad as soon as possible. We will not be making any further comment on the matter.

Hmmmmm, wonder what the speculation is over in London about this. That seems pretty extreme.

Evidently there were more threats to Ozil and/or his family. The whole situation is pretty crazy to be honest.

This sounds very real and weirdly dangerous. Two arrests have been made.

Agreed, but if we put Gumby on the pitch, he will do more to defend than Ozil...

Other than it actually being serious, the only other thing I can come up with is the club trying to move both on before September.

On a diff subject. I tried to watch the Saints preseason, and it's just shite. It took an hour to kick 2 fricking fgs. I find myself caring way less about the NFL and just full on premier league.

I expect it will be

GK - Leno

RB - AMN
CB - Chambers
CB - Sokratis
LB - Monreal

CM - Xhaka
CM - Guendouzi
CM - Willock

FW - Mhki
FW - Aubameyang
FW - Lacazette(if fit)/Nelson

Ceballos hasn't played a full 90 yet and also picked up a knock against Barca. Dont think he will start. Luiz just got here so Sunday maybe too soon for him but I'd expect him starting from next match on.
