We could have had Brendan Rogers...I'm just saying.
I really think Rogers is more suited to manage a "best of the rest" side more than a perennial top 4 or 5 side.
Similar to how David Moyes was with Everton.

I don't want Rodgers. I've been very unenthusiastic about some of the names I've been hearing. Emery is too small minded to understand how to fix us. Allegri and Mourinho are too defensive and negative. At this point I'm willing to take a punt on Arteta, Ljungberg, or even give Steve Bould a shot.
We have to install a system that prioritizes a couple of things. First, we have to decide how we want to win the ball back. That will determine the entire shape of the team. We have to commit to a version of the 4-3-3, in order to get our best players on the field. It might have to be a 4-2-1-3, in truth. We have to get Xhaka off the field and maybe out of the club. He's being marked out of games and is a passenger. We have to start playing players where they perform best. So no more Torreria in the hole, no more Xhaka at DM. We may as well give the captaincy to someone with some fire, who won't ever back down, like Gunedouzi.
Once we decide on how we want to win the ball back, we can decide how we want to attack. But for the love of god we have to work on our possession game and supporting the attacking players. We will face the low block in a majority of games, and if we can't break it down, then we don't deserve to win. This means that the high press is our best option, but only if we are somewhat more conservative in the use of our fullbacks, as we have to ensure that when they go forward, the midfield covers for them. The fact that we let our wing backs bomb forward without proper cover has been a consistent feature of our play under both Wenger and Emery.
We just need to find someone who is progressive enough to implement his ideas. Emery isn't that person.

I got a little chub seeing that lineup

Certainly chub worthy.

Martinelli translates to goal in English.

Pretty much. He is an outstanding buy and already an assassin.

Martinelli needs to calm down. These Pool players have families.
Posted on 10/30/19 at 3:04 pm to glassman
Brace for Martinelli. That makes three out of seven games.

Edu's Brazilian connects already working out big time. Bring in all the Brazilians.

Incredibly frustrating seeing Torreira be so impactful, yet never get a stint in the 1st team in EPL matches.

May change for the short term. Surely Emery has to bench Xhaka for a few matches just to let things calm down.
Posted on 10/30/19 at 3:32 pm to DB10_AFC
That was my hope.
I was so happy for the lineup, soured a bit seeing Mustafi and for good reason it seems
Kolasinac is also in that # for me, just not a fan.

How Torreira and Ozil aren't automatic picks baffles my mind.
