Just watched the game, szcz should have been off (he made the right decision, but ablong was too quick), but I agree with FOBU that still calling the penalty after advantage was weird. Kosc should have never been sent off! Two BS yellows and a penalty for what should have been none. Szcz doesnt deserve hate from this game, played decently besides where he decided to play CB (hey, he made a clean tackle... something the rest of the team couldn't do).

Jack lost the ball pretty often in our own half, Santi looked unfit, rambo was rambo of old, Rosicky looked great. We need a DM and/or added depth to our defense. I think our starting back 4 at full health is great, but I cringe when someone is brought off

Chez isn't prem league material right now. I say buy a keeper and send him on loan for a year or two

Why didn't we put in a bid for Capoue?

Guys, please watch these amazing rants from the fans outside the stadium. Pretty eloquent, I must add.
You get what you pay for, unless you're an Arsenal fan
We are the worst prepared club

It's hard to disagree with either of those interviews. Not to sound like a pessimist, because I'm generally not that type of fan at all, but it may actually be time for Wenger to step down.

I know he's a fantastic manager. And I know he has overachieved with certain squads. But it just doesn't seem like he has adapted to become a modern manager ("modern" having begun in the past 5 years in this instance).

Arsenal's activity in the transfer market this summer has been ridiculous. They will be forced to panic buy now, and will likely be drug through the mud in terms of pricing.

Within the past week, the squad went from one of the deepest in recent memory to who the frick will start on Wednesday.

Oh yeah, we have about half the buying power that we had last month.

He acts like he's managing a small club. Reality check: he's in charge of the biggest club in one of the most powerful cities in the world.

You have to pay to get your player. In some instances you have to overpay. It's the reality of the modern game, and it's inescapable.

That doesn't mean he has to go out and spend £35m on Andy Carroll. But ponying up the extra £5m for Higuain is perfectly acceptable.

I'm interested to see who plays in the North London Derby right before the transfer window closes. Will you guys have some big signings to play? Will Bale play for us? Will Sandro be start for us? I think we beat you guys, but two weeks is a lot of time for things to change.

Which is crazy considering he established himself as one of the preeminent managers in the world by initially being way ahead of his time. His innovation and courage in his early years for some reason just hasn't carried over.

I hear an Arsenal game is the most expensive ticket in the league. Maybe it's time for fans to send a message by not going to the games until changes are made. This could've been a good year to make a title run with all the changes going on.

Will never happen. It's one of the world's foremost cities and Arsenal have a worldwide appeal as it is, in a variety of markets. From a local standpoint, there is a waiting list for season tickets.

Similarly, and perhaps to even a larger extent, it's unthinkable to me that Liverpool fans would either boycott or abandon ship and they haven't been in the UCL for a good minute now. I think there are obvious systemic differences between the two fanbases, but, for Arsenal, you have the hometown core fans as well as the international appeal which ranks among the Top 5 in the world I suspect.

In other words, the club will never learn their lesson until they are relegated.

Well I don't see them getting so bad they get relegated, unless they are having to start reserves and youth players. The contract for Wenger ends after this season, right? Maybe he doesn't have the passion anymore and plans to retire.

No, not what I meant at all. I worded my post rather poorly as usual. Just that the board lacks any ambition, and that the fans would have a hard time sending a tangible message, so it's all for nought.

I don't think Wenger is personally ready to retire, although the fans may force him out if Spurs finish 4th and Arsenal finish 5th-6th.

I'm a bit worried about the Champions League game coming up. The team was beat up before yesterdays match and now it's worse.

I'm not sure AW can keep his job unless we qualify for the CL. and even if we buy, they won't be able to play versus fener. we're going to be relying on our young guns quite a bit.

he's backed himself in a terrible corner. more than anything our lack of a defensive purchase WHEN WE'VE KNOWN FOR A MONTH WE'D BE LIGHT AND WE LOANED OUT FRIGGIN MIQUEL and relying on Szcz and Fabby annoys me. I think it's pretty clear at this point, the pipe dream of Suarez prevented us from getting Higuain, but that's the least of our concerns right now. Giroud was one of our only bright spots yesterday.

It's my American biased kicking in but how do you think Brad Guzan would do? I haven't seen him play much since I don't watch Villa often.
