The source is Goal.com but Arsenal ready to give green light for £15m Song move to Barcelona
I thought we could get a bit more than 15 mill. If this is true I hope Wenger has a few players lined up ready to sign. And with all this turnover in the squad, especially the first 11, I wonder if it may take time for us to gel.

Tbh, I'd take that in a heartbeat.

It's not happening. Especially not for that price.

The two guys I would like to get to replace Song are M'Vila or Etienne Capoue. Word was Capoue looked very good against Uruguay in his French debut with Wenger in attendence.

We had Vela. He's better and less douche-y. Would you rather MC be our third striker? Chicharito will bounce back and i certainly wouldn't mind him doing it for us.

Yes.

Him being "in form" is not the issue for me. I want to enjoy the way my team plays and I absolutely hate his game. He flops all over the place, is constantly stopping the flow of the game by being offside and did I mention that I hate diving?
I don't want to have to backtrack after we score a penalty and say "Yeah it was a little bit of a flop, but at least we scored!" It's why I hate Randy, no matter what happens Chelsea can do no wrong, and I'm not that kind of fan.
Also I want to be able to root for him and considering how much I dislike Mexico's national team (which he is the face of pretty much), I don't want to do that either.
Not to mention I don't want MU's scraps, I want a legitimate striker of our own.

If we are going to buy a 3rd striker I would rather it be someone else. He probably wont be cheap either.

I will be very sad if we lose song. Him and Sagna represent the best hair tandem in the EPL.

I would hate to lose song and van Persie in the same summer. They were so much of our offense last year. That being said both deals fit hugely with Wenger's philosophy of buy low, sell high. The combined profit on Song and Van Persie would be about 33 million. I guess that's good but it's hard to win a trophy with that philosophy

In your attempt to not be Randy, you came off with a rather Randy-esque response. Very few facts in that rant.
Yes, he is offsides quite a bit, as any striker who plays off the last defender is, but he was offsides only marginally more than RvP last year and the year before was offsides less than once a match.
He doesn't exactly have a terrible rep for flopping/diving. To my knowledge he's only been in two potential PK controversies, one where he got a yellow (looked like there might have been contact) and the other he got a PK and there was definitely contact. I guess what I'm saying is, his flopping isn't worse than the norm in today's football. And you can still rip on it when your players do it. You don't have to be Randy and excuse it.
Personally, i think he'd be about as good a third striker as we could get, but it's all moot because they won't sell him. Means too much to their marketing if nothing else.

Did you not watch the match yesterday? that's him to a T.

If we do get Hernandez, we'd be changing formations. He can't play as a lone striker. He's basically the Mexican version of Walcott except he can't play wide. That said, I'd take him because he's an excellent off-the-shoulder poacher. We would have absolutely raped Man U in this deal as well. I don't think it is likely that he will come to us though.
If Song goes, I'd really like to replace him with M'vila. Capoue isn't nearly as mobile, and his passing game is rather simple. Honestly, I think Frimpong and Coquelin could be good replacements. Frimpong is a physical specimen and Coquelin is pretty good as well. If you combined them into one player, they would be nearly perfect. They both still have the chance to develop into solid players.

Of course there aren't any facts backing up the statement "I don't like his style of play/enjoy watching him"
that's an opinion.

I think Coquelin is going to be a quality player but I think he is too similar to the rest of our CMs. Frimpong fits the description of the kind of CM we need but he is immature and injury prone. I don't know if he will make it at Arsenal. I agree with M'Vila as the first choice to replace Song.

Well we have practiced some in the offseason with a 4-4-2. He and Giroud would make a very nice pairing. I don't see how we can really afford to play it much now that we only have two viable strikers though.

I have a sneaking feeling that Chamakh will be our 3rd striker this season. But it depends on if we will spend whatever we have left over after buying Song's replacement(if he does leave). I could see us buying another striker if we get rid of Bendtner, Park, and Chamakh, although that scenario is highly unlikely.

Let me see if I can understand the Bendtner thing... he's pretty talented but is an a-hole and there's a mutual want for him to play somewhere besides Arsenal between the club and him?

Very much so

Yes and there are clubs interested. Wages shouldn't be that much of a stumbling block as with our other unwanted players. He will end up somewhere else before the end of the transfer period whether it will be by loan or sale.
