0 titles. That's below second-tier.

You're probably right. My views on this are odd. Doubt anyone agrees with me.

Also, the Telegraph is reporting we will sign with Adidas when our deal with Nike is up. £25mil a year. We're getting either £8mil (Swiss Ramble's figure) or £13mil (telegraph's) per year at the moment. That's more than Adidas is paying Chelsea.

I just think any of those top 2-4 teams in the big leagues, particularly those who have been in that position for the long haul, are capable of winning in any given year.

Barca
Madrid
Bayern
City
Chelsea
PSG
United

Are the teams competing for the CL title.

Also, what past track record were you talking about? I'm curious why that would put y'all in the first tier when you just admitted you were in the second tier of success.

I'd swap Dortmund for PSG. PSG isn't very good. They are over-reliant on Zlatan and their goalkeeping is poor. Their managerial staff is also below average.

PSG was included because of a futuristic thought.

If we're talking this season, City looks to be out too.

I'd still swap them for Dortmund, unless they pull a Mourinho or Pellegrini type hire next season.

I thought what you quoted explained my position. You said there are 6-7 teams that can have a realistic goal of winning the CL in any given year. I disagree with that personally, but I think over the last 10 years we've been in that category more frequently than not. This year it isn't realistic for us, I'd agree. Probably hasn't been since Cesc left.

any sponsorship change always provokes instant repulsion btw. it's natural to fear change

I dunno, the deal, if true, appears to put us where around where other big clubs are in terms of jersey sponsorship.

I'd imagine Arsenal leaked the news perhaps to get Nike to re-up with a better price. We are Nike's 3rd biggest club sales-wise. Would be a big loss for them.

That's really good news, if we can get £25mil or more a year.

Yeah it would be in Nike's interest to pony up. Although who knows what their long-term strategic plan is. Adidas needed another high profile team to replace Liverpool. Hopefully a bidding war starts.
