Are Southampton, Leeds, and Leicester City the best teams ever, to make the drop?

it's bad enough 1 of them went down, but all 3 have a lot of quality on those rosters.

Especially Leicester.

A lot of the droppers, just cant afford to fill roster with talent, poorly coached, or arent very good, thats not even close to being the case with these 3. you could realistically say, these 3 should be mid table teams, at worst 13-15th.

crazy how good these teams really should be.

The Manchester City that dropped and the current Manchester City may as well be treated as two separate clubs.

Leicester was a victim of ffp and to a degree, their own success. That squad should’ve never gone down but there were some signs in 21/22 that it was trending that way

Southampton went with the bold youth recruitment strategy and between that and going after the wrong managers they faded fast

Leeds probably should’ve finished around 13-14th but were very unlucky at times, stuck with Marsch and Gracia too long, and were probably the poorest run club in the league. Our former owner was literally on his way to Italy to buy another team the day we went down And our absolute retard of an ex DOF apparently put a relegation loan release clause in everyone’s contract so we’re hardly recouping any money.

I had only been following the league for a couple years but the 2002/03 west ham team is still one of the most surprising relegations ever. That year was crazy. 44 points was needed for safety (this past year was 36) Leeds started that season in Europe and only clinched safety on the penultimate weekend with a surprise win at Arsenal which cost them the title.

Everton avoided relegation on dramatic final day. Looking forward to this coming season!

If we are talking all leagues, I'm gonna go with Atletico mid 2000's and River early to mid 2010's. Juventus doesn't count since it was because of the match fixing scandal.

Not gonna lie I was really hoping Everton would drop instead of Leicester.

I think Sunderland have a pretty good shot at the playoffs or even a punchers chance at the 2 spot if all our young talent keeps maturing. Leicester going to pretty much snag one of those 2 now.

I think years of being raped and pillaged by Liverpool finally did Southampton in. Shame because they do things the right way.

Leeds should be fighting for an auto spot too I think.

There really isn’t a massive difference in quality between the bottom 8 of the Prem and top 8 of the GOAT.
