I conceded that there were dangerous circumstances. calm down. not everyone had a nightmare experience and not every opposition fan was making life a living hell for USMNT fans. I'm not marginalizing those that were put in volatile, scary situations. I just thought that that guy's letter was part whining, part relevant.

Point taken. I just get tired of the many people out there who keep telling the American fans to man the F up and stop being whiny bitches. It was dangerous and scary. Never again will I attend a US-Mexico match.

I'd go to a WCQ in Columbus. Anything besides that, I'll pass. That means no to anywhere in the southwest.

it seems pretty simple.. require a passport and or american I.D. at the gate for entry to all american sporting events. Legal visitors only.
at the very least for the purchase of the ticket.

non-legal attendants throwing bottles at americans sound like a homeland security issue to me.. God Damn Terrorists

god only knows. I'm trying to find footage of Donovan taking a corner at the Azteca. Seems like it's all been removed. He was treated to some projectiles, but not as intense at the Gal-Fen one.

It's ridiculous. Anyone who says "well it's LA. you should have known" or "It's Mexico, what do you expect" is full of shite.

Last time I checked Americans are held at a higher standard then Mexicans AND no matter what sporting event it is. If it is in the US then this shite shouldn't happen. If they had a lack of security, the Rose Bowl should have called in the police. It's as simple as that. I don't think that all the blame should go to CONCACAF. It's 50/50. . CONCACAF and Rose Bowl Management.

Honestly tho, I was sick as frick so my view may be skewed but when I went to the 'Bama/Texas game. There were officers there with assault rifles and stuff like that but not a ton of cops.

Cool.

It's a sporting event in the USA. The American norm = We don't put up with that shite ever at any sporting event.

I dunno, I've read countless horror stories about opposing fans at Tiger Stadium though I've never witnessed them myself. Also riots after games is pretty common.

But in terms of in-game threats we do have everything pretty well under control.

I've seen plenty of assholes at LSU games, and I often see people apologizing for their behavior to the opposing fans. I didn't see any apologies from the Mexican fans for the god awful behavior of the others.

Since they speak neither English nor Spanish, sign language would be in order. Mean feat.
