That alone has really turned me away from football. With soccer I know when the game ends and I can get on with my day.

I heard him on the MIB pod a while back. He actually sounds like he knows what he's talking about when talking soccer. Not just claiming it to get love like I've heard other celebs or athletes do.

I think the most interesting part of that article was how he played intramural soccer in college, haha.

Ultimately this is why I think there will be some resistance to what NBC or whoever will pay for the rights to EPL and part if the reason why ESPN has been reluctant to put all it's weight behind MLS. I hope I'm wrong.

Mettenberger played intramural soccer at LSU. We played his team one time and he was not a very elusive defender. He was on a team comprised of a bunch of foreigners; it was very random.

That's so bizarre. Imagine if he had torn his ACL playing intramural soccer instead of football.
