Yeah I’m not a huge fan of Pulisic as a 10 but he interchanges positions with Arriola enough to where he gets the ball on the wings a good bit. Arriola is extremely limited though. Would love to see Weah partner with Pulisic on the left.

They are the most in-demand players in the world.

I think Dani Alves is so underrated. I truly think he has been a top 10 player over the last decade.

I'd love to have an athletic left back

LB has been our weakest position for years, save for when Fabian played there. I'd kill for the type of LB depth that we tend to develop at RB.

Put Lima at LB and let Yedlin and Cannon battle it out at RB

It would be nice to have another winger who could provide some creativity. Arriola seems a bit pedestrian, though I love his running.

Arriola is basically new Bedoya

I think Nick Lima plays a lot on the left right? I like him.

Ten years ago, Jonathan Bornstein was our starting LB. We develop virtually no left backs, for some reason.

Do we have the personal to play a 4231 with the having the freedom to switch and roam? Would let Pulisec have the space to do his thing.

GK - Steffin
DF - Yedlin, Miazga, Brooks ???
DM - Bradley, Adams
AM - Pullisec, Mckinny, ???
FW - ???

Unrelated...what's happening with Josh Sargent? Trying to understand why he wasn't on the GC or U20 teams. Is there an injury that I'm not aware of?

Berhalter tarded that one up.

Having for some reason rewatched the game, one major flaw that I've noticed is that the system we played in this tournament is too reliant on two players. Bradley, even with his ridiculous motor, is asked to do way too much in this system. With Ream tucking in as essentially a third CB, Bradley was constantly needing to provide him cover on the left flank... Mexico keyed in on that, especially in the second half and were purposefully trying to stretch him as much as possible and he was out of steam by the end of it.

And then once the ball crosses midfield, more than likely, from a Bradley pass or dribble, all of the pressure is on Pulisic to find space and make something happen. Once Mexico started marking him all over the field in the second half, it was up to everyone around him to show some quality and force some attention off of Pulisic, but it didn't happen and our attack went into shambles.

Part of that is a talent problem in that we're overly reliant on a 32 year old and a 20 year old with no real other option to take off the pressure (a true LB in Bradley's case and just someone else that can beat guys off the dribble for Pulisic), but it's also a Gregg problem that he thought that would continue to work once the adjustments from Tata came in.

Adams should help out on some of that, hopefully

Adams will help for sure but you can't expect any one player to cover that much space. And our "press" last night looked a lot like it did against Curacao which was completely disjointed and god awful. To me that is what needs to be fixed first and foremost

Basically, but I think Arriola adds more to the attack than Bedoya ever did.
