Someone will buy Pope. I wonder if Cornet put a relegation release clause in his contract and how much if so.

Aston Villa agree deal to sign Diego Carlos from Sevilla for £26m

Aston Villa have agreed a deal to sign Brazil centre-back Diego Carlos from Sevilla for £26m.

The 29-year-old, who was a Newcastle transfer target in January, will travel to England on Thursday for a medical and to finalise personal terms.

He would be Villa's second signing of the summer following the arrival of Boubacar Kamara from Marseille on a free transfer.

Carlos played seven times for Brazil at last summer's Olympics.

"Sevilla FC would like to thank the player for his work during all these years in Seville and wishes him the best of luck in his new journey," a statement from the La Liga club read.

Aston Villa manager Steven Gerrard recently confirmed central defender Ezri Konsa would miss the start of the upcoming season because of a knee injury.

Villa, who finished 14th in the Premier League last season, also completed a deal for Philippe Coutinho to join on a four-year deal from Barcelona earlier in May.

Sadio Mané is heavily leaning towards joining Bayern Munich this summer. He wants a new challenge after 6 years at Liverpool. His plan is to win the #UCL on Saturday and then say goodbye to the Reds and hello to Bayern. (Source: BILD)

If he wants a “challenge” then why go to Bayern?

Yeah that’s dumb as shite but I’m sure the only other club in the mix would be PSG so between the 2 I guess Bayern is more respectable

I understand him wanting a change of scenery though. He’s won everything you can win at Liverpool and been a big part of the squad during this run

He has been incredible playing as a false 9 since we signed Diaz though. He single handily made Mo going on his cold streak manageable for us

Mane obviously needing to add a DFB Supercup trophy to his cabinet…

From Bayern’s standpoint it makes sense, get at least what you can for Lewa and deal him this offseason (that’s if a Spanish team can move enough money around) and bring in Mane. Makes no sense letting Bob leave on a free like Dortmund stubbornly did.

Bayern signed both Gravenberch and Mazraoui for 19M€ total, so there’s still money to go around this offseason

He wants to win a league title that doesn’t have a COVID asterisk next to it.
