Grenada was outplaying Honduras for the first 25 minutes and then their GK couldn’t clear a ball and Honduras scored.

This Eriq Zavaleta dude chose El Salvador over the US. Don’t know anything about him and this will sound awful but when I saw how white he was (cmon you all know what I mean it’s El Salvador) I immediately searched Wikipedia.

Did he really though?
His Wikipedia says he’s 28 and hadn’t played for the USA since the U-17 team in 09

Got his first cap with El Salvador in 2021

He played a few games for our U20s, but yeah. He was never in the USMNT picture.

El Salvador has quite a few of those guys. Josh Perez and Alex Roldan (Cristian's brother) as well.

And none of them "chose" El Salvador. If they felt they had a chance to play for the USMNT you better believe they'd be doing it.

That will without a doubt be the worst miss of the tournament.

I don't believe in the transitive property in sports, but LOL at Mexico not being able to score against that T&T squad.

That was one of the derpiest goals I’ve ever seen. Zardes would be proud.

Ball hits both posts, Portillo has the easiest tap-in of his life with an empty net, and somehow slips and shoots the ball backwards.

Lucky for him, a teammate was right behind him to save his dignity and put away the goal. Otherwise, that’s an all-time bad miss.

I had a miss that embarrassing in a high school summer league game.

aka Jonathan Lewis in the Olympic qualifying semifinals.

...and we still called him in for the Gold Cup.

I don't know much about this T&T team, so I took a look at Transfermarkt. T&T made 7 changes from the game against Mexico. Judging by the player's market values, tonight's T&T team was much stronger than the one that played against Mexico.

He doesn’t even start consistently for the Rapids. It’s mindblowing to me he’s starting in competitive games for the senior USMNT.

I remember thinking 6 years ago when he was with NYCFC that he could potentially develop into a good player. He showed flashes of talent. He’s arguably regressed since then. At best, he hasn’t progressed.

Hopefully we’ve seen the last of him and Yueill getting significant minutes, but I have a feeling we haven’t.

I really hope this is Yueill's Will Trapp moment.

Gregg called Trapp in religiously for much of 2019. It didn't make sense at the beginning, but Gregg rode him until it became painfully apparent that he was not up to the standard of an old Bradley, a healthy but not game-fit Adams and even Yueill.

It finally forced his hand.

I'm hoping the Nations League and now this Gold Cup is Gregg's swim or drown moment for Yueill with Acosta in the Nations League and now hopefully Busio in this tournament.
