He was so good at the end of last season. I hope we can take that form into the new season. Only lost one game after march 8 and ended with 4 wins in a row. I’d take a point at man utd right now but if they play like the team that ended last season we can get more.

Well when I saw the team sheet I was afraid this would happen. No Phillips was always gonna allow Bruno to run wild. Koch was set up to fail playing that position today. He can play there like he did against Tottenham when a team isn’t trying to bypass our press. Likewise Rodrigo can’t play with Klich if we aren’t playing a team that we aren’t gonna dominate in possession. In those games he needs to be the guy who replaces Bamford around 65-70 minutes after Bamford puts in his shift.
Even the brief time it was 1-1 I still felt something like 3-1 coming but that was brutal. Now it’s a very tough game against Everton at home. It’ll be an emotional day so I just hope they play better. Having Kalvin out there will get the balance right. Plus if Firpo can start Dallas can go back to midfield. Not too concerned but that’s a tough way to start the season.

Koch can't play CDM in the PL. Struijk should sit and Koch should play CB with Cooper until Llorente gets back.
Pumped so see Firpo and Phillips start next week. I'd like to see the club spend $15-20M by the deadline. ~$9M for Lewis O'Brien and someone else or we just drop the full amount on a real player that's ready to start. Bielsa going to be pissed if we can't close on another player.

Thoughts on the last game and this weekend?
We really just need to play well this weekend…W, L or D…just play well in front of a sold out ER. Hoping for a result. Burnley the following week is looking like an early season must win.

We really, really rely on Kalvin Philips. When he doesn't play, we are a different team, and not a good one. He's able to make so much of Bielsa's system work.
Koch is not my favoite player, but he was set up to fail. I'd rather play Struijk or Dallas in the CDM role if Kalvin can't go. Struijk has the legs for it and I'm convinced there's nothing Stuart can't do.
Also, it's been roughly 15 years without fans in an EPL Leeds-Man U game so I'll spot them this one but... stop with the Munich shite. It's not funny and I know its a throwback to a more... colorful era of fandom before EPL got all family friendly and dull, but we can still be rowdy and even mean without mocking a legitimate tragedy.
I'm honestly not too concerned. We lost big to Man U last year, too. And the game was close until we sort of caved late, but... man, it doesn't get much easier. Everton is a must have result. At least a point. I'm willing to let the first one slide, but that showed just how far we have to go.
Sign another defender. Cooper is showing his age. Koch is meh. Llorente is always hurt. Struijk is a kid. I can't beleive our best regular defender is STILL Ayling. and he scored a goal! Way to go! Dallas is our next best defender and he's not even a defender (ok Llorente is our best backliner, but I need him on the field as he played just 15 games last year).
