If United get Van De Beek, I think it’s likely that Barca turn their attention to getting Wijnaldum from us. And in the event that happens, you gotta imagine Thiago would be a done deal
I know both teams had barely had any friendlies and the rustiness/lack of fitness was pretty easy to see, but the community shield was the perfect example of why Thiago would be so useful for us. Milner/Gini/Fab is way too defensive of a midfield 3 with not much creativity. Keita coming on helped a ton. 2 of Thiago/Hendo/Keita would be great to partner with Fabinho when we need to break down a defense

But for real tho, is he worth a damn? Twitter just says he’s a shitty defender, but I’m having a hard time telling if it’s just sad wolves fans seeing him go, or if he’s actually a poor defender.

He’s solid. Not a game changer. He’ll contribute a bit in the final third, but have some head scratchers defensively. Sucks for Wolves as we’re down our 2 starting wingbacks and AMN looks out of reach.
