Beat NYRB 2-1 in our first preseason match. Played 3 30 minute periods.
Posted on 1/24/20 at 3:32 pm to pvilleguru
Josef and Barco were the goalscorers.

He won't.
And he, management, and the Company Men will roll out the same ol' excuses.

It's more likely that all the new pieces will take time to mesh. I really hope ATL UTD fans give it a few games to judge the moves and new players but I know most fans won't.
The core of this team is still strong and they are bringing in good players. I think the front office deserves the benefit of the doubt that they know what they are doing to keep ATL competitive.
Year 1 - an amazing success by all accounts. Playoffs for a 1st year expansion team
Year 2 - MSL Cup Champs. Enough said.
Year 3 - US Open Cup Champs, Campeones Cup, Eastern Conference Finals, secured spot in CONCACAF again.
I mean come on. We are three years in and have experienced basically unprecedented immediate success.

Objectively speaking ATL UTD doesn't have to make excuses for shite when you look at the first 3 seasons of club existence.

We still have a strong starting XI even without bringing anyone else in. Add another 2-3 pieces and we'll be rolling nicely.

I agree it’s been great success but it looks like we are shifting our scheme that made us that successful.

Which scheme is that? We've had a different scheme every season.

We've even brought back a player we had in year 1 (Walkes) and signed a player we have wanted since year 1 (Lennon).

We sold Tito today. Supposedly we are in for a Brazilian midfielder.

Arzamendia and Villasanti will likely play their last game with Paraguay tonight, unless they can beat Brazil.

Rossetto is training with the team today.

Being reported that we sold Villalba for ~$4m. A record for a Paraguayan club.

Looks like we're going to miss Barco for another month this summer.
