You can make it work in a 4-2-3-1, you just have to put Gressel in as a standard RB and shift the defenders.
ST: Martinez
LW: Barco
AM: Almiron
RW: Villalba
DM: Nagbe
DM: Larentowicz
LB: Garza
CB: LGP
CB: Parkhurst/Escobar
RB: Gressel
GK: Guzan
But I like the 3-back systems too much.
It’s a good problem to have. There’s a benefit in having someone like Villalba come off the bench. Do what Mou used to do a lot with Martial and Rashford... have one replace the other in the final 20 or so when the starter has completely run his marker to death.

If Barco keeps playing like this (or even improves), I'm ok with Villalba coming in off the bench.
I think Gressel is a better RWB than Escobar, but Escobar is a better RB than Gressel.

NYCFC is losing 3-0 to Portland. A loss would put AUFC only 1 point back in the East with a game in hand.

We had depth issues last year, but we've really fixed a lot of those positions. We could use another true CB, DCM, LWB, but we're stacked everywhere else.
