This type of shitty transfer for Barca usually happens playing football manager, not real life

Sport Bild is now reporting that we have entered the race to sign him.. though, I dont think it's possible (if true)..

Yea I highly doubt that
It would cost you all north of £40 million to get him this window

I dont find it hard to believe we're interested, but I doubt they'd want to do business with us..
They may mean for the summer, because they also mention us going head to head with Bayern for Timo Werner... and that would be a summer deal...
In this day and age, £40mm wouldn't surprise me...

News came out yesterday that De Jong is now going to Barca for a reported 90m after initial reports had him at PSG. Dutch and Spanish papers both confirming. That's a hell of a lot of money for a youngster but Barca could be set for the next decade with FDJ, Arthur, and Alena.

That’s still a big time gamble. I know the market dictates the price, but that’s a lot of money for potential. Not too long ago Odegaard was the future phenom. Halilovic before that. It’s been interesting to watch unfold. Real are buying and targeting stars in their prime while Barça, sans Coutinho who hasn’t done shite over there, are buying young guys with potential. One club is linked with Eden Hazard and the other with Frenkie De Jong.

lol what Madrid just dropped 17 million euro on Diaz
and 61 million euro on Vinícius Júnior and 30 million on Álvaro Odriozola not to long ago.
Madrid is still buying young talent hoping for them to reach potential.
and Barca brought Vidal in the summer and now Kevin Prince

do you actually research anything you post or just post the first thing that pops in your head without actually have the knowledge.

But I thought Coutinho was the best attacking midfielder in the world, a truly elite player?

It really is interesting what Barca are doing. I have no idea what they have going on in their youth academy at the moment but La Masia must've lost some of it's luster if Barca are spending like this on potential

It is a squad overhaul to get younger. Bayern is doing the same thing. It makes sense bc you don't want all you top players aging out at the same time.
There are some good kids on the squad from the academy the last couple years.

Goddamn you can be dense. Yea Real are still buying youth, but they’ve also brought in Courtouis and are heavily linked with Hazard. My point is that Barça seems to be banking heavily on potential while Real is still trying to swing their dick, in addition to bringing in potential. Barça dropped 9 figures on Ousmane Demebele and are rumored to be approaching that for De Jong now. You’re comparing that to 17 for Diaz?
frick right off citing Vidal and Boateng as some sort of argument that I don’t have knowledge on the matter

Old man Vidal and Kevin Prince Boateng are transfers i’d expect at Everton, not Barcelona. Real are linked with players like Hazard and Icardi. The point was that one club seems to be investing huge money in potential, while the other is investing reasonable money in potential and still chasing guys in their prime with the huge money. Barça is shopping the bargain bin.
So to sum it up. Real- lots of money on youth, a shite load of money (potentially) on guys In their prime
Barça- A shite load of money on youth, bargain bin shopping on guys holdover players.

Yea, he's just not broken in to starter status (and looks like he never will).
Methinks his sale will finance the DeJong acquisition.

I never bought into the whole “replacement for iniesta” hype that would being put on him. The guy is an inverted winger, not some mercurial central midfielder. He wants to get the ball in space, beat a guy on the dribble, and curl off a right footed shot. Barcelona saw the technical skill set and were enamored, and I’m very thankful for that, but he’ll never approach the mental skill set of iniesta. Phil wants to score. Iniesta wants to dictate the game.
I don’t know if he “regrets” leaving Liverpool, but there’s no way he hasn’t second guesses his decision. I’d imagine Chelsea or United will buy him

Arthur is incredible.

They spent £100 million on Cou
Diaz is a youth academy player with a hand full of first team matches
That pretty much negates your entire argument
Madrid has had this gilacticos policy, Barca are doing a squad overhaul which will probably payoff in the long run. If they miss on a few guys they have academy kids to step up.
