Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola was asked at an event about one of the club's reported targets, Real Madrid midfielder Isco.

But he replied: "City aren't going to sign Isco."

Well that's settled then.

Wolves to trigger Afobe’s release clause and sign from Bournemouth. A little surprised at this one, as I thought they’d wait to see what else happens in transfer window first.

Arsenal are close to an agreement with free agent full-back Stephan Lichtsteiner.

The 34-year-old Swiss international held talks last week and further negotiations have centred on a one year contract which is now in place.

Borussia Dortmund had also shown interest in former Juventus right-back Lichtsteiner who will act as cover for Hector Bellerin.

Yea, I agree. He will be a cup player just to spell Bellerin. It is one year deal and Arsenal has more pressing issues to deal with. They can go get another RB next window.

Allegedly Villa we’re losing up to £800k a week last year and the parachute payments have dropped another £10-£15million this year.

I’ve read that we need to raise £40million to satisfy FFP.

Grealish should raise a big chunk of that (I’d be disappointed with less than £20million), Hogan, McCormack, Lansbury. There’s a lot of big money players who are waste of spaces but the issue will be finding clubs willing to pay what we pay them. Carlos Gil is to be made permanent at Depotivo, Golini is already gone, Richie De Laet is close to being permanent after his loan. Possible some lower prem team will come in for Chester and Adomah. Those players plus a decent sell on fee from Adama and the money is raised.

I’d be surprised if Alan hutton is back, Snodgrass won’t be made permanent.

Terry, Micah Richards, Samba, Agbonlahor those 6 alone are probably close to £350k a week in wages gone (how depressing).

So raising the money is doable while keeper 6 or 7 starters, we do however need a new keeper and Grealish going will make me a sad panda.

glad the gunners took the decision out of our hands. I can't believe that was even an afterthought

Christian Pulisic's father has played down reports linking the Borussia Dortmund starlet with a move to the Premier League.

Pulisic, one of the most exciting prospects in world football, has been linked with Tottenham, Liverpool and Manchester United, but his father, Mark, branded the speculation 'hogwash'.

Usually deployed on the right wing, Pulisic possesses excellent technique and it is no surprise that he is being linked with a switch to English football - but at present it seems that he will be staying at Dortmund.

Mark Pulisic told Sky Sports News: 'He was linked to Tottenham. Last week it was Liverpool. The week before Man United. The week before this… it's hogwash.

I find it so random that Mahrez is going to be City’s first big transfer in club history.

Nobody has been over £60 mil yet, and Mahrez is expected to be right at that mark, with incentives going up to £75 mil.

I guess that’s the going rate for a former POTY who hasn’t really slowed down since and leads the league in combined goals/assists over the last three years. Which after typing makes it sound easily worth it.
