Well since the EPL is changing logos next year, I'm not sure if they'll have gold badges for the champions any longer. Hell, the league itself won't have a "badge" going forward. My guess is that the lion head will adorn sleeves starting next season. MAYBE it will have the "Premier League" text beneath it.

The volt color is just popular right now. I didn't used to mind it and actually liked it for a bit, but it overdone now. I liked City's at first, but the more they wore them the more I grew to hate them

Well, we've got our answer (apparently) as to what the sleeve patches will look like next season and beyond. VERY week, IMO. Leicester deserve a gold patch, not a white patch with a few accents. I'm sure all of the other patches will be white as well with navy.
