Because that's the name you heard in your high school history class. I'm sure you have done a lot of studying on World War I. There is a lot of blame to go around but it lies just as much, if not more, with Germans as anyone else.

I'm not being a dick I'm stating facts and people are getting pissy about it.
PKs suck, not my fault.
Germany was the main cause of both World Wars, not my fault.
Liverpool are a middling club right now, not my fault.

I guess I am now obliged to mention that Chelsea finished 6th in the league. What is that, 2 spots above Liverpool? Or that LFC has beaten Chelsea 5 out of the last 6 matches? Or that Liverpool has 5 times as many European Championships and more than 4 times the amount of league championships?

"prevailing opinion" of "many historians" equals fact? I was a history major and recall no such consensus among scholars. The roots of WW1 are far deeper and involve pretty much all of Europe, not just Germany. Not even Germany primarily. That was rigged to blow in so many ways.

I've never met a single person who has actually played soccer or even likes soccer that thinks PKs are a legitimate way to end a game and I don't see how any decent argument can be made for them. I can point to numerous scholars who believe Germany were the main antogonists in turning a dispute between Austria and Serbia into a full blown World War, and I'm glad everyone is on the same page in regards to Liverpool.
