Mike Gundy and every sports writer who has never picked up a football can talk trash as much as they want about the what ifs and who should/should not have been in the game. LSU proved all season showing the major dominance they have. Bama being another powerhouse, fell only to this team...not some fluke loss to a nobody with a losing record. At the end of the day, the BCS got it right and a champion was named from the two greatest teams of 2011. End of story.

Hats off to what both LSU and Bama accomplished this season. Nobody else was even close.

This is exactly why I wanted Oklahoma State in the title game.

Congrats, Tide.

Disagree. I'll get flamed... But Okie St and Stanford are better than LSU. Both would've given Bama a better game last night. This season is a perfect reason on why we need a plus one.

They may have given Bama a better game actually would have had a hard time giving them a worse game but that doesn't mean they would beat LSU head to head.

Still would have really liked to have seen what Oklahoma State could have done.

Against Bama.

Agree with you, but I still don't think Bama earned the right to play again. It was unfair to LSU and I wish more Gumps would appreciate that.

A plus one would have given the same result. The best two teams played, and the best team won. Playoff = same thing

You can say that, but no one knows for sure. I don't think a plus 1 solves the problem. If you're looking for the best team, then you need 8 teams IMO with all conference champs of the BCS leagues getting a shot. Who knows what WVU could have done in a playoff, or Oregon etc at the end of the year

No no. Lsu would have owned okie state. All we would do is smash it down their throat and they could not stop us. we wouldnt need to do anything else. Bama differnt story

That's your opinion, but the system in place disagreed. Until they change it, that's the only opinion that matters.

I am not only talking about last night.

What if there are two teams who deserve a shot but have 2 losses in conference, where there are 8 good teams in that conference and their losses are by 3 on the road let's say.

The SEC champ has 2 losses, 4 teams have 1 loss in other conferences. The SEC champ should have a shot, just like any conference champ should have a shot when it isn't clear

I agree completely. Unfortunately, LSU didn't give Bama or viewers much of a game. I talked a lot of trash leading up to this game. I underestimated Bama, but I nobody not even Bama fans) would have expected the LSU offense to do absolutely nothing last night. I can't even say that I was angry with the offense. I actually just felt sorry for the defensive players who did all they could to keep LSU in the game and the running backs and receivers who were completely helpless. I'd rather stick around here and take my lumps from Bama fans than have to deal with all of the crybabies and chicken littles next door.
