Their problem actually has nothing to do with Trump.
Their problem is, there's a lot of "good" they don't want to come out about THEM during an election cycle and that shite will DEFINITELY come out in a Senate hearing.

They can make as much noise as they like on that front. Ultimately the House doesn’t have dick to say about it.
Right, which is why I said "trying". Through public opinion.

This is to run the clock to November.
There is NO WAY the Dems risk having the open Senate hearing during a friggin election cycle.
This shite reminds me of how things were growing up. I had an older brother, 3 years older. He would do something/say something infuriatingly dumb then lie about doing it. I would call him out on it with both of us knowing I was right and he was full of shite but he would never admit to it, like he was playing a perpetual game of BS psy-ops but again, we both knew the truth. As a kid I wanted to come up and punch his smug arse in the face over it though.
This is how I see the Ukraine impeachment crap. We all know with any level of intellectual honesty, it would have to be admitted this is a childish game they are playing. It is based solely on politics and hoping to get power, all because they lost and can't handle losing without acting like a bunch of petulant spoiled brats!

Dems are stuck. They aren't worried about being elected, they're worried about going to jail. The Ukraine corruption thing is huge. Bigger than it seems even. Biden and Pelosi at a minimum are facing jail time.
Look, they've already pushed their chips in. Long ago. They're committed to overturning the 2016 election. Hell, several of them appear to have committed treason.
Their last line of defense other than starting a frickin war is to claim that Trump is targeting political opponents. For that reason alone they're gonna stay on this impeachment train no matter what.
Trump has backed them into a corner and they're frickin stuck. It's all over but the crying.
As for impeachment itself, the house, IMO, will run this out long as they can. Then, the Senate may decline to take up the articles. I mean, they've already said any impeachment is DOA in the Senate.
This is only about saving their traitorous necks.

Maybe Durham's report blows this all up.

They've got several counterpunches cocked and ready to go. They can squash it with the Durham investigation or they could nip it in the bud with the FISA Fraud stuff. Trump has been giving these idiots rope this entire time and they have taken enough by now to start building gallows.

It's political suicide if they try to extend this a year.
Every Republican running in a district Trump will win will be a shoe-in as well.

Front page of Huffington Post blares: EX TRUMP AIDE CORROBORATES QUID PRO QUO. Click on the article to read that Morrison in fact does not corroborate it.
Many people (myself included sometimes) only see the headlines.

This is just a way of having something hang over Trump's head during the election cycle.
We will see this editorialized more than once in the next year I think.
"Can America re-elect an incumbent facing impeachment?"
They know they can't beat him in a straight up election.
