Thats why I disagree with calling it an insurrection. It was a organized protest that descended into chaos. I dont think any of those that entered the capitol had any idea what they were going to do. So far Ive not see anything that really changes my opinion on the shitshow that was Jan 6th.

You do realize that the expansion of mail in/ absentee ballots was originally an idea that the Republicans first embraced in the aftermath of the
2000 election? They saw it as an advantage because so many military types back then were pro Republican. The Democrats came in, adopted and put it on steroids beginning around 2012.

That would've delayed the certification for a day or two which would not have mattered. Its not like they had to reach some goal in Capitol and it was game over. Could they have harmed people (and did) in a frenzy..yes and it was a dangerous situation but I dont think they had a plan.
