Uh, is DOTAR supposed to be Daughters of the American Revolution? If it is, it's a bad comparison; the Proud Boys are not similar to DAR in any way, shape or form.

Best thing is it was started as a joke by Gavis MacInness and Anthony Cumia. It was a "social club" for men, to counter all the PC soy boi nonsense. It was satire that turned into something else. Even Mr. Provocateur Gavin has distanced himself from it.
