Wouldn't acoustics already establish distance and weapon used?

I don't know enough about the subject, but with all of the media focus, shouldn't experts have already worked this out?

What makes you believe that the authorities don’t already have that information?

Sounded like a 5.56mm rifle shot to me.

Yeah once the investigators get involved, they usually figure things out way before it’s made public.

Which is why the cover ups are so damn obvious.

I would imagine on a college campus with all the cameras I would love to believe they know who and where by now

Correct. With the FBI and ATF there, they probably have the bullet itself and most of the details on where and what it came from.

They aren’t going to release it until they find the guy.

I was talking about the media. Just once, I would like to see media use its resources and inform the public.

The feds and cops aren’t going to release that level of detail instantaneously.

You have unrealistic expectations. That stuff isn’t going to come out until they find the guy, dot I’s and cross t’s.

Again, I'm not expecting anything from law enforcement. It would be nice to have the media do something to inform their audience that most of us can't do ourselves.

I wouldn't be surprised if a few people on the PoliBoard could have already determined distance and weapon from what's publicly available.
