FDR didn't have a begrudging relationship with Stalin. He absolutely loved the guy.
I wouldn't go that far.
There was respect there, between both. But they kept each other at arm's length.

We sided with Stalin

I'm not sure we could have defeated Hitler without Stalin. The Red Army did the heavy lifting, which forced Germany to send the majority of its men and resources to the east, allowing the Allies to gain a foothold in Western Europe.

Hitler declared war on the US.
One of his major blunders, but he was tired of FDR supplying the Brits and company with supplies. But remember, France and Britian declared war on Germany first. Hitler did not want to go to war with Britian, but Churchill decided otherwise. Now France may have been a different issue- the Germans never forgot the harsh peace terms from the French after WW1.
Germany was ZERO threat to the U.S., they didn't have a sufficient Navy to perform any type of amphibious attack on America. Hitler did FDR a favor because FDR wanted to get us into the fighting, just like Wilson in WW1. I still think sending American troops to Europe was a complete waste of American lives. Hitler's fight was with the Communist sicko Stalin and that fight was all but decided 6 months after we declared war on Germany due to Paulus' defeat at Stalingrad. Hitler's main objective was always going to be the Soviet Union. Considering how many people of his own country he executed, I don't know why Stalin isn't mentioned in the holocaust of his own people! Why is it always about the Jews in Germany? Hitler did not issue the order to kill the Jews, that was Himmler, but I think Hitler took a blind eye to the executions, however many there really were.
