First I'd like to see money only allowed from the district/state the office represents.

Why, when lawmakers vote on issues impacting things outside of their state?

You think I should be able to buy influence with your congress critter from a thousand miles away?

Representatives represent their district... not the USA writ large.

You won't get money out of politicians pockets until you get politicians out of our pockets.

With the level dependency, regulation, and ability of politicians to determine if you get fed, or your company survives... they will get paid by someone.

The only way to get "money out of politics" is to shrink how much government money politicians have available to spend.

Good luck enforcing that. Are you planning to make third-parites unable to spend money too (direct violation of the 1A)

Get rid of PACs and corporate donations. Limit to donations only being from private individuals, with a reasonable maximum donation limit per candidate and election cycle.

And you should only be allowed to donate to candidates who will appear on the ballot in the local precinct where you’re registered to vote.

I loved this idea at first, but then I thought more about it. Would you want the media to decide every election?

I think you’d see a giant shift from people buying off politicians to buying off media enterprises. The only people getting airtime would be socialists.

Let’s be honest with ourselves, the only reason our candidates are even in the running is because they pay for that exposure.
