He didn't adopt Soon-Yi (I don't know these people's names I'm looking them up).
According to Wiki, they started their relationship when she was like 21. I read some article a week or two ago that said it was basically an impossibility that they had any sort of relationship until she was in her late teens or something. They've since been married for two decades.
I'm not saying it's not a little creepy, but for a long time I thought he ended up marrying some daughter he'd raised as his own. Apparently that's not the case at all.
