The best plan for anti-depressants or anti-anxiety is for any prescription to be paired with therapy and for the dosage to be monitored by a doctor and/or psych professional.
The idea is for medicine to treat the underlying issues and make it easier to cope, not just over drug someone to ignore the issues.
The standard refrain of someone having problems to need their dose increased is a problem which is potentially very dangerous for multiple reasons.
