I remember noticing The New York Times referring to George W. as "Mr. Bush" when he was president. I decided to look up how many times they'd used "Mr. Clinton" when ole Bill was president.

Surprisingly, they were pretty close in frequency. Still, screw the NYT.

It’s traditional to call a former president
Mr. President…
Not a big deal.
It’s the same with Ambassadors and cabinet secretaries…

I have no love lost for that paper, but they’ve done that for every POTUS since the paper existed.
