Nice anecdotal narrative. Let me tell mine. I grew up in the Deep South and never heard or saw a group of white kids say "let's go beat up some ______!"
My small town was like most typical small Southern towns in Ga. in the 70s and 80s. Black and white kids went to school, played ball, partied, etc. together. The black guys were just as into fishing and riding BMX bikes and playing in the woods as the white kids. Hell, many of them dipped and acted like every other "redneck" in town. We stayed at each other's homes and went to each other's mee maws on Sunday's to eat a damn good meal. Our dads and moms worked together at jobs and in the community at the ballparks whether coaching or minding the concession stands. We had a few racists around but they usually hung together whether adults or kids and they were few.
That area is now a populated suburb of Atlanta and I moved to another small town about 50 miles out. Coincidentally, race relations are the same here as they were when I grew up in that other small town.
Just my anecdotal story to add to yours.

It would appear that even some of the most racist left-wing radical blacks are backed into a corner on this one and admitting it is a hate crime .... but the for is calling it simple "kids that went too far."
They are all 18 or older.
