Jones has got an arse kicking coming in two years if Gary Palmer runs. Palmer or Mo Brooks will destroy him. He might as well be declared a lame duck now.
General consensus was that he had an arse kicking coming to him two days ago.

The only question about Jones is will he vote 99% with Schumer or 100%.
He's a Democrat, he will vote lock step as he is told to like a good little sheep.

Against a flawed candidate with those accusations against him? There is one reason that Jones won and it was the accusations. If that had not came out he would have never beaten Moore. There was not a single day/time in that whole race in which the policies or issues were even discussed.
Do you honestly believe that Alabama is shifting blue?

Jones seems to be a guy who will stick by his values - liberal on most everything. Up to him, but it will not get him elected in a few years.
I'm sure he is hoping for a gun bill to come along in this time. He'll be all in (and go against the Dems.) and use that as a basis to get elected.

Doesn’t seem liberal at all. Maybe by Alabama standards

It is nuts for anyone to think Alabama is anywhere near blue.
Trump got 1.3 million votes in Alabama. Hillary around 700K.
Moore got a little over 600k. Jones got a little over 600K votes and only won by 20K or so.
Think about it.

Don't want him. Don't need him. He will shite the political bed soon enough.

No. He is just a short term senator. Even if he switched he would lose in a primary to a conservative
Please regale us with your knowledge of Alabama politics.

He’ll be voted out in 3 years and we’ll hopefully get a good conservative in there.
My naive hope is he follows through with his statements of working across the aisle and it leads to other Democrats following his lead.

Nah. He's going to quickly show the people of Alabama how big of a mistake we made.

Dems only need Jones in office until they take over the Senate in early January, 2021. After that, it won't matter if alabammy elects a mouth-breathing Rightist for that seat.

Besides being prochoice he is also all about muh living wage. Is that only considered liberal in Alabama?

And against a very flawed candidate, the general consensus was that moore was going to win bigly. Forgive me if i dont give a shite that you think in 2 years he gets his arse kicked.

33 senators are up for re-election in 2018, including 23 Democrats, two independents who caucus with Democrats, and eight Republicans.

Republicans are defending far fewer seats, and only two GOP senators are considered truly vulnerable: Sens. Jeff Flake of Arizona and Dean Heller of Nevada. Meanwhile, 10 Senate Democrats are up for-election in states that Trump won in 2016, and they all have targets plastered on their backs.

I wish Palmer and Brooks would cut a deck of cards to see who runs against Jones in 2020. The other run in Shelby’s spot in 2022. Shelby is 83 now and will be 88 in 2022 and I really doubt Shelby would run then.

Hahahaha
He will be in lockstep with Schumer
Dem senators need permission to not vote with him.
Isn’t Manchin supposed to be “moderate”? When has he cast a vote against schumer that mattered?

Like Joe Manchin, he'll become Dick Durbin with a twang. Re-election is off the table.

Its only 2 years, fella. Keep it going at this pace and your heart may just give out. I think we both know you dont want to be voting democrat in the next election so deep breaths, my friend.
All kidding aside, to your original question, i dont think alabama is suddenly a liberal hotbed. Gun to my head, i would say jones is out in 2020, but we are going to make you earn it.
